How I plan a room makeover
I'm just about to start my bedroom makeover so I thought I will give you a peek around to see what the room looks like now and what I plan to do to it, it's a long list!
Do you have a process you follow when you start on a room? Do you plan everything out or are you more a decide as you go kind of DIY'er? I like to plan, mainly as then it's easier to keep within your budget. I like sourcing my materials online or in local timber yards and reclamation yards as this really keeps the costs down. I'm trying to keep my bedroom makeover under £750 which will be a bit of a task since we just decided to put a new radiator in..
Since filming the before bit of the video I did start on the walls and floor and little sneak peeks can be found on my Instagram You will start seeing tutorials of the room makeover here from two weeks time. I can't wait to show you the wallpaper I made!!
The Pinterest board you see in the video is my bedroom ideas board click here to see it in full. The books in the video are Remodelista by Julie Carlson, Holiday at Home by Mr Jason Grant and HomeMade Modern by Ben Uyeda. The magazines are VT Wonen, Elle Decor and Living.
Some very exciting news, In Style magazine nominated me for a Project13 award!! Just two other bloggers are nominated as craft or illustration sensation so I'm rather honoured. It would be even more amazing if I could win this award, especially as I'm the smallest blog of the 3 nominated. Could you vote for me? Simply follow this link and click on Hester's Handmade Home, it's that simple. Thanks a billion!! Vote here
You could even share it with all your friends/family/pets/colleagues if you want to receive a lot of brownie points :D
I better get back to my long bed room to do list, see you soon! xx Hester
