Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in DIY, interior and lifestyle. Hope you have a nice stay!
New year, new project!! Today I can finally show you the first episode of a new project I've been working on Cities of Craft!
Cities of Craft is a travel programme with a creative twist, instead of just featuring towns all of the world we focus on specific spots where makers like to settle. Craft people have a great talent of finding up and coming hotspots to settle and open their workshop. Places of the beaten track that you might not have considered visiting yet. In Cities of Craft we find those crafter makers, go to their favourite spots and see how those spots inspire their work.
In this first episode we go to Margate on the English south east coast. A town that has seen a lot of change in the last couple of years. It has moved on from holiday has-been to buzzing with artistic energy and it's fast becoming the new hipster hotspot. It still has the Victorian holiday charm with it's beautiful sandy beaches and bays but it also boosts a great cafe culture, retro shops and a vintage theme park. Showing us around her Margate is artist Zoe Murphy, who prints her lovely designs on vintage furniture and fabric using imagery inspired by her seaside hometown. Click on the video above to let Zoe show us around her studio and her Margate.
