Decorate with wall stickers
The bedroom makeover is coming along nicely. I pulled up the dirty carpet, sanded the floors down, white washed the floor boards and painted the walls. With all the white surfaces it really feels like a blank canvas ready to be decorated.
I don't know about you but I find painting the walls and floor pretty boring work so couldn't wait to tackle the walls next to the window as I wanted to add a bit of fun into this space. Like I said in part 1 of my bedroom makeover (if you missed that one click here) we have a lot of weird angles in our bedroom. Being an attic room we have a sloping ceiling, a weird window and an even weirder shaped chimney covering one wall. I didn't want to hide all this character rather accentuate its uniqueness so some pattern was needed to make the walls next to the window stand out. Have a look at how I used wall stickers to add some interest to the walls.
Rather effective and super easy to apply! I bought my stickers from Etsy.com and went for a monochrome look with dark grey crosses and triangles but there are a lot more colours and shapes to choose from. I almost went for deer stickers and still love the cacti from Chasing paper as well. But I think the simplicity of the crosses and triangles work real well in the space. Can't wait to finish the rest of the room now!
The stickers I used are 1 inch big and I used 50 per wall. I like them being placed very randomly but you can of course make a pattern with them as well.
Do you like using stickers in your decor? Would you use the triangles and crosses instead of wallpaper?
I'll be back next week with a new video, see you then! xx Hester
