DIY kids fishing toy
I love a handmade gift, especially a handmade Christmas gift. There is just something so thoughtful about receiving a present somebody spend time making themselves. Children’s toys are by far the best handmade gifts for me so over the next week I’ll be showing you how you can make some yourself.
First up the fishing game! Great for your little ones hand eye coordination, this is such a simple game to make, no craft talent needed :D
All you need is
felt, mine is 3mm thick but you can use a thinner felt too
scissors
needle and thread
paper clips
embroidery thread
sharpie or other black marker
a magnet with a hole in the middle (got mine on Ebay)
a thin piece of wood to make the rod, I used a wooden knitting needle but a dowel, piece of bamboo will do too. Just make sure the wood is smooth.
I decorated my fish with just the marker pen but like I say in the video you can decorate them as fancy as you like. They would also look great embroidered in bright colours or covered in felt shapes. I like the simplicity of the black marker pen though.
Make at least 6 fish to make the game fun. Want to entertain more kids? Make an extra rod and e few more fishes.
