My new book: Rebel Crafts!
My new book is out, from this week you can find Rebel Crafts in any good bookstore or online. It feels like ages since I wrote the book (got commissioned just before lockdown, photographed it all just before the 2nd lockdown and finished writing it just before the 3rd lockdown) so I’m so happy to see it finally out into the world.
In Rebel Crafts you can find 15 step by step craftivism projects that combine your passion for making with your desire to make your voice heard. It’s a fun and informative collection of activism inspired activities like screen printing slogan T-shirts, creating bespoke paper for letter writing campaigns and bring inspiration to your neighbourhood with a handmade mini library.
Have a look inside the book in my latest YouTube video, I also show you how to make on off my favourite projects from the book, the slogan badges. They are a lovely little make that shows the world what you stand for, uses up scraps of fabric and as the strap is hand stitched it’s a lovely mindfull activity.
With your own hands you can make a difference, resist injustice and spark change in your community. It all starts with craft.
Rebel Crafts is published by Welbeck, the step by step photos are by me, the finished projects shots are by James Gardiner and styled by Amy Honour. We shot the projects at the lovely Broadstairs location house.
If you fancy winning a copy of Rebel Crafts leave a comment on this blog post or on my Instagram (on the badge tutorial IGTV) You can win a copy for you and one for a friend! I’ll even throw in a custom made badge just let me know in the comment what word or short sentence you would like to wear on your chest.
(competition is open till Friday the 2nd of July 8pm GMT)
Good luck and would love to know what you think of the new book!
