Flow Kids Book of Paper Love review and toddler craft idea
(Gifted product)
I’ve been a big Flow magazine fan ever since their first edition in 2009. I would forever lug the heavy magazines back with me to the UK as back then there was only a Dutch version. How pleased I was that several years ago they started publishing in English (and now also in German and French)
The specials they publish, like the Book for paper lovers, are firm favourites too and I’m forever struggling using the beautiful papers in these book as I don’t want to tear the pages up! I know people that buy two copies, one for making and one for keep in perfect condition on their bookshelf.
So when I got asked if I wanted to have a look in the latest book by Flow creative directors Irene Smit and Astrid van der Hulst, I was like ‘Yes please!!”
The kids book of paper love is a fantastic book full of amazing projects for your little ones (or you!) to make. It has patterned and metallic papers to use in crafts, glitter stickers (Kiki’s favs) neon postcards, fold out banners, paper to make into a paper chain, £D paper frames, photo booth props and much, much more. It’s 180 pages of pure craft fun!
Have a look at my video below to see inside the book and see Kiki and me crafting a little something from the paper in the book
Kiki is a little too small for this book, I think it’s perfect for the ages 6 and up, Kiki is only 21 months but as you’re never to young to start paper crafting I got her involved in a little project.
It’s as simple as picking some lovely pieces of paper from the book, cut some random shapes out of them. Apply some glue to the back of the paper and then let your toddler stick them down. If you have a bigger child you can of course let them do all this themselves.
I think for little Kiki this is a perfect first step into paper crafting!!
Did you spot how easy it is to make my photo frame in the video? It is just a sheet of A4 balsa wood (thin plywood) with a bull dog clipped glued to it. So simple but I love the look of these frames and it is super easy to change the picture in it :D
The Kids book of Paper Love is out now as it got released on the 15th of October and you can find it in any good bookstore and online (ISBN: 9781523508143) and cost £14.99 I think it will make a great Christmas present for the little artists in your family.
