Cake toppers, 3 different styles
It was Kiki’s birthday last week, a lockdown birthday, who would have guessed that back in March last year that her January birthday was still going to be without friends and family :(
When I asked her what she wanted for her birthday she replied slagroom taart with a rainbow (find the recipe for the Dutch cream and fruit pie here) balloons (as you could have seen on my IG I might have gone overboard on those) presents, music to dance to from daddy’s phone and delivery man pizza. Not my pizza no delivery man pizza, she was very specific about that :)
So I had to make a rainbow cake topper, I had a look at materials I still had and found a few squares of Fimo clay, perfect for making a rainbow. Unfortunately not in bright colours but a bit of paint would sort that.
I wanted to make a few more cake toppers though and as non of Kiki’s friends could come to her party, something she has been asking about for months and has been pretend playing for weeks too, I made some toppers with the faces of her little friends and cousins so they could be at her party too :D
Have a look at my tutorial
How cute are those little faces on her cake! Perfect to have her friends near as Kiki is rather friend obsessed. The banner toppers are the easiest of all toppers to make, just a bit of washi tape on a stick and you have a party decoration.
Have a you planned any birthday parties in lockdown? What did you do to make it feel special?
