Bunny ears shoe hack, give your shoes a spring update
Give your shoes a little makeover to make them ready for spring. I bought these shoes a few weeks ago (pre isolation) in the sale for only a few pounds thinking I can make them a lot more fun with a simple hack.
Using fabric scraps and two pompoms I had lying around the house, these shoes are now a lot more fun. A prefect, as I like to call it, shopping in my shed make. Crafting with items you already own as you really shouldn’t be buying any non essentials at the moment.
This is a perfect little hack to update some basic shoes for Easter. Have a look at the video below to see how I updated these plain shoes to be ready for Easter.
This is such a simple little hack and a perfect project to use up materials you already have, just make sure the colour of the backing fabric sort of matches the colour of the shoe.
I used a ready made pom pom but of course you can make your own to from some leftover yarn.
Print the template to make the bunny ears, just make sure that when it’s printed the ear is 7.5 cm tall (3 inches)
You need to cut 4 ears from your backing fabric and 4 ears from your accent fabric.
You will also need 2 pompoms, a sewing machine and a glue gun.
I was SO pleased Kiki put the shoes on! That girl has been in wellies for the most part of a year, think wellies for Christmas, wellies with her birthday party dress. That girl knows how to do festival chic :D
Might have something to do with the fact that I called them Bing shoes… (if you don’t know who Bing is you are lucky! He must be the most annoying bunny on tv that Kiki is completely obsessed with)
I used my sewing machine but you can easily make this a hand sewing project, that way you can get the kids involved so they can make their own bunny ears to stitch on their shoes!
Don’t limit yourself to just kids shows though. These bunny ears will look great on your shoes/slippers/sneakers too!

Hope you have a lovely Easter, will you be wearing bunny eared shoes? :)
