Painted rainbow wall
Two years ago I hung a massive panda bear on the wall in what is now Kiki’s room. He was a project for Wall-art.nl and I absolutely love the mega bear but Kiki has been sleeping super bad lately and I just want to eliminate that the panda might be causing her problems at night. So out with the bear and in with some fun hand painted rainbows! Have a look at the video to see how my little helper and I got on.
I’m loving the hand painted rainbows! They really pull the whole room together. Are they going to help with Kiki’s night time waking? I don’t know but they sure look cute!
The wallpaper pulled off so easily! I do like putting the paste on the wall instead of the wallpaper as then wallpaper is so much easier to remove, as you can see. I was rather impressed Kiki could pull the paper off too, she’s turning into a very handy little helper :D
This is a great tester pot project as you only need little bits of paint. I used Annie Sloan wall paint in Antoinette and Aubusson Blue, Annie Sloan chalk paint in English Yellow, Louis Blue and Arles. The glitter paint I used is by Rust-Oleum and I was super impressed with this paint. Kiki likes to shine her torch on it at night and see it sparkle.
Kiki wanted to help but I didn’t had the guts to let her loose on the wall so I stuck a piece of A3 paper on the wall she could paint her rainbows on. She did pretty well, there is one rainbow thought that has a few finger print on it when she wanted to finger paint :) See if you can spot it
If rainbows aren’t your thing you can of course paint polka dots, geometric shapes or even little sprinkles. Sprinkles were my second choice, Kiki would have loved a wall that looked like a giant icecream!
Kiki’s room sure is colourful at the moment! Next to the rainbow wall is the wardrobe painted in doodle paint, she has the mint green chimney breast, the grey gallery wall and the painted radiator. I don’t think there is anything more to paint in her room :D
