Painted radiator
Post in association with Rust-Oleum
What to paint when you have finished with all the walls? Move on to your radiators! :D
Rust-Oleum asked me to use their Universal All Surface paints to create a painted radiator, I wanted to add some colour to my daughters room so I came up with this fun design to her room.
What do you think of the transformation?
I started with doodling a design, I wanted something abstract and fun, just some random shapes. When I was happy with my scribbles I cleaned the radiator and started painting. I did my design free hand using a small brush, if you are not to confident with a paint brush you could use a stencil too.
It was so much fun adding colour to this boring white radiator! I started with the black outlines and then added the pink, blue and grey.
I used an old dish to mix a bit of white paint to the pink and black creating different tones. The All Surface paints cover in just one coat and is touch dry in a few hours. You have to let it cure for a week though before you can switch the radiator back on.
Once the base colours were touch dry I added details like the little polka dots, stars and stripes.
I’m loving the colours on the radiator. I used Rose, Black, Misty Grey, Matt White, Lagoon and a hint of silver from the All surface hammered range.
I’m itching to paint more radiators! Do you like this abstract design or would you opt more for a block colour? I think painting a radiator in just the Rose or Lagoon could be stunning too!
