Ikea Antilop highchair hack
Hands up if you have an Ikea Antilop highchair, I think almost every household with a baby has one. They are super affordable and its a decent chair. I think Kiki might even prefer hers over the Stokke one we have too (the Ikea one is our travel chair when we visit friends and family) Only problem is they are so plain! There’s nothing wrong with white plastic and metal but it doesn’t look that nice in your interior. Time for a little hack!
Like I said in the video I initially wanted to swap the legs for wooden ones, four broom handles cut to size and screwed into the base but then it wouldn’t be portable anymore. I don’t think I could be bothered to unscrew the legs every time I wanted to take the chair with us in the car. So what looks like wood but isn’t? Contact paper!
I used d-c-fix paper in Sonoma Eichen which is an oak colour, you can of course use any paper you like. I recon the chair would look great with marble legs as well!
The round stickers are colour code labels I got off Ebay, the pink ones are 13mm ones and the grey’s have a 33mm diameter. Just stick them randomly on the outside of the chair. You can keep changing up the colours, the shapes and how many you stick on. Whatever goes with your interior!
So easy right? Little safety note, never leave your child unsupervised in the highchair. Don’t worry Kiki normally wears the harness just not in this picture. Stickers could be a choking risk for little babies so be sure you stick them to the chair properly.
