Easy wall decor

When we moved into our house one the first room I redecorated was the toilet. I thought lets start with the smallest room and inject as much pattern and colour as I can :)

Over the first year, and when all the other rooms got decorated, my style sort of changed and the toilet decor didn’t really fit in anymore, time for a redo!

You can see my first toilet wall decor tutorial here, I used pages of magazines that I torn out and saved over the years to decorate the walls. Very colourful and fun but a bit too much after a while. So just before the baby was born I made the toilet walls my last DIY project before my maternity leave. I torn all the pages of the walls and repainted the toilet grey and white. Unfortunately the tissue paper I ordered didn’t arrive on time, then Kiki was born and I never came round to redecorate. Until a rainy day last week!!

I couldn’t find a wallpaper I liked for the toilet walls, so I had to made my own. Have a look at what I came up with in this tutorial video.

What you need:

• tissue paper in a few different colours

• scissors

• matte Mod Podge (or anther brand varnish glue)

• brush

You can cut any shapes you like, maybe just do circles for a polka dot wall. Or you might like lots of colourful stripes? I got inspired by Matisse and cut lots of different simplistic geometric shapes.

I used four different colours but you can get mono chrome with just one colour tissue paper (would be great in black!) or go all out and use lots of bright colours.

What do you think? Do you like my soft geometric wall? I think it is so fun! And the best bit is, its super cheap! I think I spend £3 on this in total and took me around an hour to do.
